    Trails for Creston Valley Society's Mission is to bridge communities and nature, safeguarding precious outdoor spaces through community involvement. We are dedicated to developing and maintaining hiking trails, promoting environmental conservation, and engaging the community through trail development, fundraising and hosting events.

    We greatly appreciate your participation and the skills you bring to help build safe access to nature for generations to come. Your time and efforts do not go unnoticed!

    Thank you in advance for taking the time to complete this short volunteer agreement, which acknowledges the shared responsibilities between our volunteers and the Trails for Creston Valley Society.

    By completing the form you are not signing up for any particular activity listed, as some may interest you more than others. We encourage you to choose various activities that may interest you the most, or best suit your skills as volunteer opportunities become available. Your name will stay on our active volunteer list and you will be notified when volunteer opportunities arise.

    Physical tasks

    Physical tasks may involve cutting brush, lifting, pulling, pushing, hiking, and operating hand tools. Volunteers may also collaborate with local vendors and fellow team members to maintain ongoing relationships with various groups and vendors.

    Equipment and tools

    Volunteers may use tools such as hand pruners, clippers, hand bush saws, Pulaskis, and chainsaws (for certified individuals). Proper safety gear, including work gloves, appropriate footwear, safety glasses, and hard hats, may be required to reduce the risk of injury.

    Safety tips

    Weather conditions can significantly affect volunteer activities. It is essential to stay hydrated and dress appropriately, including using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary. We recommend suitable footwear, gloves, and safety glasses. Additionally, the use of sunscreen and insect repellent may be necessary, stay aware of your surroundings, and work in pairs for safety. By acknowledging these tips, you agree that proper preparation can help reduce safety risks.

    Additional recommendations

    It is advised to bring a substantial lunch, snacks, and plenty of water, along with a sun hat, bug repellent, and a light jacket to adapt to changing weather conditions.

    First aid

    First aid kits are accessible at trailheads or with team leaders. Please note that TCVS does not provide certified first aid personnel. In the event of a serious injury, immediately call 911.

    Emergency contact

    Please provide at least ONE contact; their name and phone number, ensuring their information is current. It is your responsibility to update TCVS if your contact information changes.

    Assumption of risk
