Trail-building work bee April 25th at 10:00am

On Wednesday April 25th at 10:00am, Creston Community Forest is organizing the next work bee for the new trail being built at the end of Helen Street .

We will meet in the same place as previous work bees, past Tim Hortons on Helen Street, with parking beside the YRB yard on the south side of the street or beside the Town of Creston’s Public Works yard on the north side.

We will be pruning back brush and leveling the trailbed. Please bring a hand-tool such as a pulaski, shovel, rake etc.

Ka Papa Cedars Trail: Clear, Clean, and Ready

If Ka Papa Cedars has been on your list, now is a great time to go. Monday, TCVS volunteers headed out to tackle a blowdown that had been blocking the trail. Six trees down, six trees cut out and cleared. The trail is now open and in excellent shape — exactly the way it should be. This is the quiet, unglamorous side of trail stewardship.
